Ongoing UX Case Study
“Exploring how recent graduates navigate the transition from student life to an uncertain future.
Period: June - july 2026
Problem Statement:
Finishing university is often presented as a milestone, but for many graduates, it marks the beginning of uncertainty. Information about employment, finances, public services, further education, and support systems is often scattered across multiple sources, making it difficult to understand what actions to take next.
This ongoing case study explores how digital services can help recent graduates navigate this transition with greater confidence and clarity.
Why This Topic Matters
As a recent master's graduate, I quickly realized that graduating was not the finish line, it was the start of a completely new set of challenges. While searching for work, I found myself navigating multiple systems at once:
🏢 Employment
💰 Finances
📄 Public Support
🏠 Housing
🧭 Future Planning
The Reality Behind The Statistics
While employment rates remain high among graduates, many still experience uncertainty, financial pressure and difficulty navigating available support during the transition from university to working life.

The Design Opportunity
Information isn't missing, It's difficult to understand.
Information already exists across NAV, Lånekassen, universities, recruitment platforms and professional organisations.
1. What applies to them
Understanding which information is relevant to their situation.
3. Which support systems are available
Making services easier to discover.
2. What actions to take first
Helping graduates prioritize actions during a stressful period.
4. How different services connect together
Creating a clearer overview across organisations.
