CASE STUDY
AVENTIX
Designing for an evolving startup product
Working alongside stakeholders, researchers, and developers, I designed the Aventix website and application UI for SCARLETT. The project focused on simplifying complex scientific workflows while adapting to a product that evolved throughout development.
My Role:
Sole UI/UX designer
Period:
July 2025 - Mar 2026
Aventix is a startup developing SCARLETT, a laboratory measurement system designed to simplify and automate complex scientific workflows. The project consisted of two connected deliverables:
A marketing website introducing SCARLETT and its capabilities.
A web application supporting researchers with laboratory measurements, data visualization, and workflow management.
As the sole UI/UX designer, I worked closely with stakeholders and developers to design both experiences while the product itself continued to evolve
THE PROJECT
Unlike a traditional software project, SCARLETT was still being defined throughout development. New ideas, stakeholder feedback, and evolving business priorities regularly reshaped the product, meaning the interface had to remain flexible while supporting a highly technical scientific domain.
CONSTRAINS
🚀 Early-stage startup
🔬 Complex laboratory workflows
🔄 Product requirements evolved continuously
🤝 Close stakeholder collaboration
💰 Product scope depended on available funding
THE CHALLENGE
Because the product evolved throughout development, a traditional linear UX process wasn't practical. Instead, we worked iteratively through stakeholder workshops, rapid wireframes, continuous feedback, and frequent design revisions. This allowed the interface to evolve alongside the product while reducing the risk of investing time in features that could change.
DESIGN PROCESS
Website
The website established Aventix's online presence while introducing SCARLETT and its value to researchers. Working closely with stakeholders, I designed six responsive pages that communicated the product, answered common questions, and encouraged potential customers to request a quote.

Web Application
The original goal was to design the user interface for the SCARLETT web application. As the product evolved, however, the project shifted toward rapid concept exploration and collaborative brainstorming.
Rather than designing a final interface, I created low- and mid-fidelity prototypes that helped visualize workflows, explore new ideas, and support discussions between stakeholders and developers as the product direction continued to evolve.

Project Outcome
As Aventix continued refining both the product and business strategy, the web application was temporarily paused while priorities shifted. Although a final interface was never implemented, the concepts developed during this project helped explore workflows, validate ideas, and support future product discussions.
